The Sky is the Limit
How Drone Shows are pushing the boundaries of Large Event Effects
A DAZZLING DRONE SHOW took place in Toronto in August 2023. Tennis Canada in partnership with SkyWorx brought the show to life and here’s how it happened.
On August 4th, between 9 PM to 10 PM, a spectacular drone show hit the skies to celebrate the National Bank Open presented by Rogers.
Due to the limited amount of drone shows done in Canada at this scale, it was considered one of the largest shows the country has ever seen, according to the National Bank Open.
The 12-minute drone show was seen from Woodbine Park and Woodbine Beach that night.
"With this drone show, the sky .. literally became a new channel for us, accessible for anybody to watch and a one-of-a-kind experience that tennis fans in Canada had yet to witness,” said Anne Belliveau, Tennis Canada’s Senior Vice-President and Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer.
“With this technology, we are able to bring our sport and our event outside the stadiums, pushing our NBO fan experience to new heights while engaging and entertaining existing and new audiences.”
Approximately 500 synchronized drones lit up the sky with a stunning show that will “continually evolve to project various shapes and animations, with themes related to tennis and the National Bank Open".
The event was free to attend and watch!
